Seven Ways the Work Spoke Back

Recognition was never the objective. The work came first. Over the past year, Media City Qatar focused on building initiatives that were meant to serve a purpose. Some were designed to invite public participation. Others test new tools. Others still to create space for dialogue across cultures. Along the way, a small number of these efforts were acknowledged by external bodies. Taken together, they offered us moments to pause, reflect, and better understand how the work was being received beyond our own walls.

1- Guinness World Records™
Media City Qatar started the year by celebrating ‘Qatar ArtBeat’, a 2024 campaign recognized by Guinness World Records™ for ‘Most People Contributing to an AI-Generated Image.’ The initiative marked Qatar National Day 2024 by inviting the public to share reflections that were transformed into a single AI-generated artwork, with more than 15,000 contributions collected. Delivered in partnership with Google Cloud, the activation reached over 5.4 million people and generated 68,000 engagements.

2- Google AI Excellence Award
The “Innovative Partnership Driving AI Excellence Award” was presented to Media City Qatar by Google Cloud at the Google Cloud Summit Doha 2025, recognizing its contribution to AI-led media innovation. The recognition reflected Media City Qatar’s growing role as a catalyst for AI innovation in the nation and beyond, highlighting its successful collaborations – like ‘Qatar ArtBeat’ – that merged creativity with cutting-edge technology.

3- Qatar CSR Award 2025
The 2025 Qatar CSR Award recognized Media City Qatar’s National Sport Day activation, ‘Ready, Set, Next’, naming it ‘Best CSR Initiative in the Sports Sector’. Set in Msheireb Downtown Doha, the experience engaged more than 3,000 people through digitally guided workouts and movement-based challenges integrated into public space, generating over 3.93 million media reach and 35,000 social media impressions.

4- PRCA Platinum Awards 2025
Media City Qatar received the PRCA Platinum Awards 2025 in the B2B category for “Global Stories, Local Lens”. At the center of the activation was “The Bridge”, an intercultural art installation created by Qatari artist Fatma Al Shebani and Italian artist Nicolò Galasso, merging the traditional Venetian carnival mask with the Qatari battoulah. The campaign reached 7.4 million people globally, drove a 103% surge in cultural mentions, and most critically, increased the number of licensed companies at Media City Qatar—60% of which came from outside the country, directly signaling foreign interest and investment.

5- PRCA MENA 2025
‘Qatar ArtBeat’ also received the PRCA MENA Award 2025 for ‘Best Use of Artificial Intelligence’, recognizing how advanced technology was used to interpret large-scale public input and render it into a unified artistic outcome.

6- MEPRA Awards 2025
Lastly, ‘Qatar ArtBeat’ was awarded Silver for ‘Best Use of Artificial Intelligence’ at the MEPRA Awards 2025, recognizing the strategic application of AI to support creative storytelling at a nationwide scale.

7- Great Place to Work® Certification
Media City Qatar was certified by Great Place to Work® Middle East in recognition of its commitment to building a people-first media ecosystem. With 94% of employees stating that Media City Qatar is a great place to work, the certification offered a moment of affirmation that meaningful work begins from within.

These recognitions do not sit above the work. They sit alongside it. They mark points in time where ideas met people, scale, or context beyond our own expectations. These awards help us pause, look back, and without resting on our laurels, return to the next round of work with our motivation and drive doubled. The work continues. Why? Simple. This is Where Next is Made.
