Media City Qatar and the Qatar Research, Development and Innovation (QRDI) Council held a strategic engagement session on September 16 at the QRDI premises, bringing together Media City Qatar’s licensed companies alongside representatives from local large enterprises, universities, and research institutions.
The session was designed to introduce QRDI’s national innovation priorities, showcase collaboration opportunities, and strengthen connections across Qatar’s research, development and innovation ecosystem, with a particular focus on advancing the media and creative industries. The initiative reflects Media City Qatar’s commitment to incentivizing its licensed companies and bridging them with opportunities that can accelerate growth in the sector.
The agenda featured opening remarks by Thair Khaled Al-Anani, Director of Business Development at Media City Qatar, and Nada Al-Olaqi, Senior Director for Innovation Development and Piloting Programs at QRDI Council. Participants also received an overview of QRDI’s strategy and priority innovation clusters, followed by a presentation from the Open Innovation team on funding and piloting opportunities, including eligibility and application processes.
The program concluded with a networking session that encouraged meaningful dialogue between Media City Qatar’s stakeholders and the broader research and innovation community, underscoring the role of collaboration in advancing national growth.
By linking Qatar’s growing research and innovation ecosystem with the media sector, Media City Qatar continues to create pathways for its licensed companies to collaborate, innovate, and thrive. With more than 250 licensed companies ranging from global players to startups, Media City Qatar is reinforcing its role as a hub for media and creativity.
