Sheikh Ali bin Abdulla Al Thani
Chief Executive Officer
Sheikh Ali bin Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Thani has been the Chief Executive Officer of Media City Qatar since September 2021, playing a key role in managing the company’s overall operations, planning, development, and strategic direction.
He serves on the Advisory Board of the Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (IPA Qatar) and is a board member at Alrayan Investment.
His career commenced in 2003 in finance at Qatar Energy, formerly Qatar Petroleum (QP). Sheikh Ali joined Shell in 2010 and contributed to several projects in Doha and abroad, including Pearl GTL, recognized as the world’s largest GTL plant.
In 2015, he joined the Government Communications Office (GCO) where he was later appointed by the Prime Minister as Deputy Director of the Government Communications Office for Media Affairs. He has actively participated in various media boards and committees at Qatar Media Corporation (QMC), the Crisis Management Team at the National Command Center (NCC), and others.
By 2020, Sheikh Ali had joined the Amiri Diwan, working in The Emir’s Economic Advisory Office. During this time, he focused on diverse projects, mostly related to the Supreme Council of Investment and Economics.
Sheikh Ali serves as the chairperson of the Higher Organizing Committee for the Qatar Economic Forum Powered by Bloomberg, an annual event that has rapidly grown in popularity, attracting global leaders.
Sheikha Ali holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the American University and a Master of Science in Finance from Johns Hopkins University.
