Four Media City Qatar licensed gaming companies took their creations to Gamescom 2026, the world’s largest event for computer and video games, showcasing games developed from Qatar at the Qatar Pavilion by Media City Qatar and Invest Qatar and connecting with global industry leaders to explore new opportunities for collaboration and growth.
Held annually in Cologne, Germany, Gamescom brings together more than 350,000 developers, publishers, investors, technology companies, and gaming organizations from around the world to shape the future of the gaming industry. Together with Invest Qatar, Media City Qatar participated in the event to showcase Qatar’s growing gaming ecosystem, attract partnerships and investment opportunities, and connect licensed companies with global industry stakeholders to support their international growth.
Representing game development, mobile gaming, publishing, animation, and interactive media, the participating companies reflected the breadth of the gaming ecosystem and included licensed companies COREGAME Studios, developer of “Khawi” and “Beyond Solar;” Digital Dunes, publisher of “Project Soccer Legends” (PSL);” Mezan Studios, creator of “Nightscape;” mobile game developer and publisher SekGames, which has more than 10 million downloads worldwide; as well as Qatar-based interactive digital experiences developer Digit Ink.
Across four days of the event, company founders and representatives showcased their games to publishers and investors, engaged with technology partners and fellow developers, and exchanged feedback and ideas that could shape future collaborations and market opportunities, all while demonstrating the breadth of gaming capabilities emerging from Qatar.
For Fadi Soufi, founder of COREGAME Studios, the value of Gamescom was in the conversations that followed the game demonstrations. "Gamescom gave us the opportunity to showcase what we are building from Qatar and connect with developers, publishers, and strategic partners from around the world. The conversations we had opened the door to new possibilities for collaboration."
Through Media City Qatar’s participation, AJ Fahmi, co-founder and chief operating officer at Digital Dunes, said he was able to introduce the studio’s portfolio to global industry professionals and exchange ideas with publishers and potential partners. "Gamescom brought together people from every part of the gaming industry. It was a great opportunity to present what we're working on, receive feedback, and begin conversations that we hope will continue beyond the event."
Meanwhile, Tony Davis, head of studio at Mezan Studios, highlighted the value of being connected to a global community of developers and creators through the Media City Qatar delegation. "Meeting people from across the industry and seeing how others approach game development was just as valuable as showcasing our own work. It gave us new perspectives and new connections."
Beyond Business Setup: Expanding Access to Growth Opportunities
