Media City Qatar played a key role at Web Summit Qatar 2025, held from February 23–26, through several strategic initiatives that attracted over 100 companies to apply for registration with Media City Qatar during 4-day event. Eng. Jassim Mohamed Al Khori, CEO of Media City Qatar, shared insights at Northwestern's Dean’s Global Forum, while Media City Qatar sponsored the Media Village, showcased its presence with a strategic booth at the Startup Qatar Pavilion, an initiative by Invest Qatar, and signed a partnership with Huawei to develop a state-of-the-art smart media campus.
This year, Media City Qatar attracted over 100 companies to apply for registration in just four days, reflecting the rapid growth of the country’s media ecosystem. These registrations are being facilitated through a partnership with Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), established under a Memorandum of Understanding signed in January 2024. As part of its efforts to shape the future of media, Eng. Jassim Mohamed Al Khori, CEO of Media City Qatar, joined Dean Marwan M. Kraidy at Northwestern's Dean’s Global Forum on the first day of the summit to discuss how AI and digital storytelling are reshaping media and education, highlighting the organization's role in attracting global media leaders and fostering innovation.
Over the course of the summit, Media City Qatar was the official Media Village Partner, hosting a dedicated space for over 600 international journalists and industry leaders, providing a dynamic platform for networking and collaboration. This initiative facilitated exclusive interviews, content creation, and high-level discussions, reinforcing Media City Qatar’s commitment to fostering media cooperation, curating impactful industry events, and driving engagement.
In parallel, Media City Qatar strengthened its commitment to the local media ecosystem with a strategic booth at the Startup Qatar Pavilion, an initiative by Invest Qatar. This presence gave visitors, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, investors, companies, and startups the opportunity to explore Media City Qatar’s offerings, highlighting its role in supporting media businesses, fostering industry connections, and driving growth in the sector.
Media City Qatar also formalized a partnership with Huawei by signing a Memorandum of Understanding on February 24, during Web Summit Qatar. This agreement will drive digital transformation in Qatar’s media sector and support the next generation of media talent
Through the development of a state-of-the-art smart media campus powered by Huawei. By integrating advanced technologies such as AI-driven access control, intelligent shared space asset management, and a multi-cloud media platform, the collaboration aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030, reinforcing the country’s position as a leader in media and technology.
This year, Web Summit Qatar underscored the country’s pivotal role in shaping the industry's future, uniting innovation, creativity, and advanced technology. Previously, Media City Qatar contributed to this momentum by sponsoring the Media Village at Web Summit Qatar 2024 and joining Qatar’s delegation at Web Summit Lisbon 2024, reinforcing efforts to establish Qatar as a vibrant hub for media innovation and digital advancement.
