The ideal candidate will manage business development activities aimed at attracting licensees to Media City Qatar (MCQ) and pursuing commercial opportunities. This involves liaising with prospective licensees, presenting MCQ’s offerings and advantages, compiling value propositions and incentive packages, and supporting negotiations and contract signings.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or similar discipline from a reputable university.
Key Accountabilities
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying potential licensees in alignment with MCQ’s strategic goals and yearly plans. This role involves developing tailored attraction packages and incentive plans, defining the necessary tools for effective execution, and negotiating with potential licensees to achieve MCQ’s commercial and strategic objectives. Acting as the main point of contact until licensees are onboarded, the BDM will collaborate with the Marketing team to create and review promotional materials that engage potential licensees and commercial partners. Additionally, they will support the marketing team during promotional events, including participation in local and international events and tradeshows. The role also includes contributing to the development of annual departmental plans and targets while ensuring the fulfillment of agreements with new licensees and partners, guaranteeing that all commitments are met.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in similar roles in large companies, particularly within the media sector or free zones, of which at least 4 years in a managerial role. They should possess advanced negotiation abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a preference for Arabic. Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team and build strong relationships both within and outside of MCQ. The candidate should be dynamic, proactive, flexible, and energetic, capable of working under pressure. They should possess strong analytical and creative thinking skills, and the ability to act independently while maintaining a well-organized and structured approach to work.
