Sheikh Thamer bin Hamad
Al Thani

Sheikh Thamer bin Hamad Al Thani is the Director of the International Media Office of the State of Qatar.

Prior to this role, he was Deputy Director of the Government Communications Office for Media Affairs, and from 2018-2019 he served as Media Attaché for the State of Qatar in the United Kingdom where he cultivated relationships with media and relevant stakeholders across the UK and Europe.

Sheikh Thamer joined the Government Communications Office in 2016 as the Head of International Media, where he supported and coordinated international media engagements by ministries and relevant entities.

Prior to joining the Government Communications Office, he was the Head of Special Projects at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, where he was responsible for projects focusing on digital civic engagement, youth empowerment, and digital media analysis.

Sheikh Thamer holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Media Studies from Northwestern University in Qatar.

Sheikh Ali bin Alwaleed
Al Thani

Sheikh Ali bin Alwaleed Al Thani is the Chief Executive Officer of Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (Invest Qatar). He is also a board member of Katara Hospitality, Qatari Diar and the Qatar Free Zones Authority.

Previously, Sheikh Ali was appointed as Coordinator for Economic Affairs at the Prime Minister’s office overseeing a broad range of activities related to Qatar’s economic and investment agenda.

He has also served as Director of the State of Qatar’s Office to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland, where he oversaw negotiations and standing committees in the WTO related to market access, agriculture, trade and investment, subsidies and other key areas. Moreover, he was elected by consensus as Chairman of the World Trade Organization’s (WTO’s) Trade-Related Investment Measures (TRIMS) Committee in 2017, which is responsible for one of the principal legal agreements of the WTO. In his role as Chairman, he oversaw the regular functioning of the committee and was involved in the ongoing investment facilitation working group discussions.

Sheikh Ali also served as the Commercial Attaché to Qatar’s permanent mission to the United Nations, covering negotiations and standing committees in the UNCTAD and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, as well as an Executive Master’s in International Negotiation & Policymaking from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.

Sheikh Fahad bin Thamer
Al Thani

Sheikh Fahad bin Thamer Al Thani serves as an Advisor to the Minister of Culture, and has extensive experience in the media field and has held a number of positions. His career began working in Al Jazeera Media Network, he then moved to work in the press office at the Amiri Diwan, and in 2014 he joined the Qatar Media Corporation and served as Assistant Director of Qatar TV and Director of Programs Department. In 2017 he was appointed  as Director of the Department of Foreign Media Affairs at Qatar News Agency.

Sheikh Fahad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Qatar University.

Mr. Abdulrahman Mosallam
Al Dosari

Mr. Abdulrahman bin Musallam Al Dosari is the Advisor to the Minister of Sports and Youth in charge of managing the sports and youth sector. He also plays a crucial role as Chairman of the Committee for Organizing the Hosting of International and Regional Sports Events in Qatar, Chairman of the National Sports Day Committee, President of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, and Vice Chairman of the Professional Players Committee.

During the period 2016 to 2021, Mr. Al Dosari served as an advisor to His Excellency the Minister of Culture and Sports in charge of overseeing the media, publications, and sports sectors. Prior to this, he held various leadership positions in several Qatari entities including Qatar Stars League, Qatar Olympic Committee, and Hamad Medical Corporation.

Mr. Al Dosari holds an MBA degree from the United Kingdom.

 

Mr. Abdulrahman Nasser
Al Obaidan

Mr. Abdulrahman bin Nasser Al Obaidan serves as an advisor to the CEO’s office at Qatar Media Corporation and has an extensive knowledge and experience in the field of radio and television. In 2003, he held the position of Director of Qatar Radio, and in 2004 he transitioned to become the Director General of Al Jazeera Documentary Channel as well as the Director General of Qatar General Authority for Radio and Television.

Between 2005 and 2009, Mr. Al Obaidan served as a member of several boards of directors, including being a member of the Board of Directors of Al Jazeera Children’s Channel, the Board of Directors of the Gulf Radio and Television Authority, and the Board of Directors of the GCC Co-Production Corporation. Additionally, Mr. Al Obaidan headed the delegation of Qatar Media Corporation in several meetings of the Regional and International Broadcasting Union.
